Renewable Energy System Development Code Amendment

The City is proposing some changes to the Development Code related to Renewable Energy. Below is a summary of the proposed changes.

Wind Energy Facility

• Clarifies that this is not a conditional use (to be finalized with the upcoming Table of Uses update)
• Removes the requirement for a noise analysis study since there are already Municipal Code allowances for noise
• Clarifies fencing requirements by removing variability and just requiring the 6-foot fence with locking gate

Small Wind Energy Facility

• Clarifies that this is not a conditional use
• Establishes a maximum height limit directly in the Code (no Planning Commission review required)

Roof-Mounted Wind Energy System

• Clarifies that this is not a conditional use
