Tabled until a future meeting
Gardner Company wants to amend the Skye Area Plan to allow two exceptions from the General Nonresidential Design Standards in the Mixed-Use Areas in the Skye Area Plan.
They are asking to allow drive-throughs between the buildings and the street, which normally is not allowed. There will be a large difference in the elevation between the streets and the buildings so the impact will be less than in other areas of the City.
The Code would also usually require 20% of the first floor facing the public street to be glass. This again does not make a lot of sense with the grade because it will block that part of the building from view. Gardner is proposing putting that glass on other sides of the building that are more visible.
