Thank you for your help in creating this document!
I live on Spring Brook Lane on Traverse Mountain. Our backyard is directly up against the triangle field across from Belmont Elementary. I have heard talks in our neighborhood that they want to put a park in this space. I am opposed to an entire park, however, I would absolutely love to see the field become an actual green space, with grass instead of the weeds. The current state of the field is such an eyesore and I think it would bring a lot of beauty to our neighborhood to spruce it up a bit. I think this option would obviously also be cheaper for the city to achieve and maintain, and could still be used by residents for some recreation. PS. I would also be extremely open to purchasing the open land behind our home to extend our backyard if that ever became an option.... just saying.
Please make space for recreation areas/parks in north Lehi.
We don’t have enough parks and green space for all the youth we have in the area. So many kids play soccer, lacrosse, and football all and we need more green space.
A dedicated park area near Belmont Elementary School would provide a safe place for kids and families to spend time in an area that is growing like crazy. I would be ecstatic if my children had a dedicated place where they could play with friends and ride bikes and scooters as opposed to doing these activities on the street in area that is becoming more busy.
A park near The Crossings and Belmont would be a great addition. The closest park being Canyon Hills HOA park is already very heavily used.
I currently coach a youth soccer team and on Wednesdays we split a small field between 2 other soccer teams, a tots soccer league and a flag football team.
There is a great need for another park in the area. Thank you.
I live in the Crossings for about ten years now. Perry had planned a park where Ridgeview Townhomes are now. The Building Commission and City Council allowed Perry to move the land to Triumph Park, away from where residents of the Crossings can use it. Residents came, but we the building commission told us that the decision had already been made and there's nothing anyone could do.
About five years ago, residents again fought for the area south of Belmont to be donated to the city for a park. We won that particular fight, but the city has not started turning it into a park where young children and families can play.
Please make right by our community and use the area south of Belmont for a park. My kids are now too old to enjoy it, but the community still needs it and deserves it.
I understand there may be plans for a new park south of Belmont Elementary, and I believe this would be an excellent addition to the community. As a resident of The Crossings, I’ve noticed there are currently no nearby parks for families and children. Our neighborhood has a large number of young children who often play in the streets, which raises safety concerns, especially with new developments and increased traffic in the area. A dedicated park space would provide a safe, accessible environment for children and families, and would greatly benefit the overall community
